Great Ways to Raise Funds for Your Kid’s School

With a preschooler in our family, I was on a parent meeting the other day trying to prepare for a fundraiser for the school.

It was a daunting task trying to get 20 parents to decide on a single idea.

Why?

Every time you turn around it seems like your kid is participating in one event after another at school. And in many of these situations, the kids need to raise money to pay for the big event.

Are you having trouble coming up with fundraising ideas? If so, we’ll share some of our top tips with you today. If you use these suggestions, you should have no problem raising enough money to support these young students and their latest venture.

1. Create a Fun Run/Walk

Similar to the March of Dimes events, your local community can host a fun run/walk and ask for sponsors to donate money based on how many miles each participant covers.

As an example, let’s say the event you create is a 5-mile fun run.

You’ll get as many participants in the community to sign up as you possibly can, and then on a specific day, you will walk or run the 5-mile distance as part of a specified track in your local community.

Each participant will ask friends, family members, and co-workers to make donations based on how many miles they walk or run.

If you get enough people to participate in this event, you could raise a great deal of money for young students looking to participate in their next school project.

In fact, the students should get involved with the fun run as well.

Have them participate in the event and have them ask friends and neighbors for sponsorships. It’s a great way to get them involved raising money for their important project.

2. Use Crowdfunding Websites

At this point in time, crowdfunding is currently the way to go if you have to raise money for any reason at all.

The Internet has made it so easy to raise money on a fundraiser website.

Just go to your favorite crowdfunding site, set up a page, and begin sharing it with family members, friends, coworkers, and most important of all, start spreading the news about your fundraising page on social media websites.

Once your page is out there, donations will begin to trickle in and before long you’ll have raised a great deal of money for your kid’s school.

3. Casual Friday (or Any Day for That Matter)

When kids need to raise money for school events and projects, one of the simplest ways to pull this off is to host a Casual Friday.

What is Casual Friday?

On this day, the children will be able to wear whatever they want to school as long as they donate a certain amount of money for the privilege.

As an example, let’s say your teacher sets up a Casual Friday theme where the kids can wear pajamas to school that day.

So, every kid that comes to school wearing pajamas will have to donate five dollars for the privilege. This may seem like a lot, but your kids are going to love going to school in their PJs and the simple five dollar donation from the entire class will add up a great deal.

If the school hosts enough of these Casual Fridays prior to the class’s event, they should have no problem raising enough money to pay for everyone. The teachers can even organize some educational movies as a part of the “PJ party”, and spice it up with kid-friendly treats such as bulk candy to nibble on.

Conclusion

As you can see, it’s very easy to raise funds for your kid’s school, you just have to get creative!

And I’ve barely scratched the surface with ideas. A vast majority of parents out there feel overwhelmed with kids at this age because of other recurring expenses as well – especially if they have already tried to get money different ways, in which case counseling can be helpful.

If this is not the case, you can enjoy different ways of fundraising that will facilitate a lot of the upper mentioned events!

You can also create a community vegetable and flower garden, and then sell the fruits of your labor to raise money for school. Or you can hold a bake sale, a tea party, a car wash, or just about anything else you can think of.

Please use these ideas to raise money for your kid’s school and no time at all.
